Native American jewelry design dates back to as far back as 8800 BCE. These ancient tribes would combine multi-color stones and wear them much like we wear jewelry today. Just as a small background, it is said that there are two main aspects of Native American jewelry: gemstones and symbols. Native American jewelry had several utilities including fashion, of course, as well as defining social status and a trading commodity. These pieces include neckpieces, earrings, bracelets, and of course rings. In ancient times the people could not enjoy the pleasures of wristwatches, but we celebrate the past with Native American inspired wristwatches.

Thacker Jewelry is rooted in Native American Jewelry. Joe Thacker began importing and distributing Silver and Turquoise jewelry in Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1973 and eventually built a factory there with a workforce of over 100. After selling that facility, he returned to West Texas to begin Thacker Jewelry in his hometown of Roaring Springs, Texas. Here at Thacker, we love everything about Western Culture and are pleased to offer a beautiful collection of Sterling Silver and Turquoise jewelry, handmade by Native American artists. Each one-of-a-kind piece has been meticulously crafted with all natural accents in Turquoise, Coral, Shell, and Bone. Our collection includes pendants, rings, earrings and additional accessories.  We have photographed a selection of our favorite pieces here and invite you into our showroom to peruse the entire collection, all affordably priced.

We also offer custom jewelry design that can be inspired by Native American history and culture. When you are ready to celebrate this country’s ancient heritage, give us a call an schedule an appointment, so we can take our time and find what truly suites your needs.
